RIDE ON!

By definition, Riding Boots should possess two things:  practicality and good looks.  This Winter, many designers are putting their twist on this classic boot that is no longer used just for sport.

winter is not only a great time to pull out and layer those tweeds, cashmere and; it is the time to put on the quintessential boot of gracious women, the classic riding boot.  “Riders,” are not only practical apparel utilized in equestrian pursuits, they are also sensible to use in everyday wear.  In fact, I was once acquainted with a lady who was as gracious as they come, and was known for going from fox hunting to afternoon brunch in her boots, and never skipped a beat.   Although, her example may seem barbaric to those with purists leanings; rider boots are a brilliant option for women, versus the usual stiletto, low-heeled, or even foul-weather styles.

In recent years, riding boots have gone through various makeovers, but for that tried-and-true classic look, it’s better to stick with boots that look as if you’ve stepped off a horse just a moment ago.
We can't guarantee you'll look like Kate Middleton, but it's worth a shot.

Why should every woman have riding boots in her wardrobe? Riding boots possess versatility like no other boot.  These boots work with many ensembles and clothing such as jodhpurs, skirts of different lengths (mid-calf is best), and any slim pant. In addition, for that old world English Countryside feel, they pair with tweeds and tartans as if they were made for them. The idea is to keep it simple, after all these are utilitarian and should look that way.  So, go on and scuff them up, they look better the more they’re worn.

So, tap into the blue-blood spirit and slip into a pair on your next outing with the ladies-horse is optional.
